Lovely monsters, Happy 2012 to you! We hope that everyone enjoyed a peaceful holiday season and are looking forward to a year of new adventures and memories.

With resolutions and forward thinking for the New Year in mind, after much thought, we have decided that we will be moving on from Green Eyed Monster in the coming month. As of February 1st (exactly two years from when we began writing here), we will no longer blog in this space. We have so enjoyed sharing GreenEyed.com with you but have reached stages in our lives where blogging in this capacity is no longer possible or makes sense for us sisters. HOWEVER! Ash has a personal blog over at Blog a la Cart where she shares a variety of musings and images of her life and inspiration – and she will be fusing her DIYs, tutorials, and design inspiration from here, over there! This way her interests will no longer be divided and she can devote appropriate time and energies to one niche of the Interwebs that is just hers. We do hope that you’ll continue to follow her there. Over the month, we’ll be transferring all of the Green Eyed Monster projects and tutorials to Blog a la Cart – and Ash will continue to share fresh ideas and tutorials in that space. Also, be sure to update your social media followings by tracking Ash on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram (username: IGalaCart), Pinterest and via RSS. Green Eyed Monster’s FB and Twitter will be defunct by February.

Thank you for all your support and love, monsters. We hope to hear from you as we embark on this new stage.

SWEATER WREATHS {day 24}

Bringing back an oldie but a goodie: DIY SWEATER WREATHS! This tutorial was a hit last season, and even got a shout on Design Sponge, so I thought it worthy of a repost.

I can’t believe I made it to Day 24 of DIY DECEMBER. 24 posts under my belt. I’m exhausted just thinking about it. Do be sure to check out the full spread here. And I hope that you’ll forgive me for this pull from the archives. You can see the full tutorial here.

NUTCRACKER SUITE {day 23}

Today, the entire family descends on our home, so James and I are busying ourselves with wrapping, baking, and prepping for a weekend of festivities and eating. Lots of delicious eating! We’ll be making this peppermint ice cream, this fudge sauce, and this caramel corn later today. Yum! What are your favorite treats during the Christmas season?

For those that need a sweet last minute gift or bit of decor for their home before the date hits the big 2-5, I highly recommend you head on over to Sarah Jane Studios and check out her selection of PDF printables. As former ballerinas who danced in Boston Ballet’s Nutcracker, I couldn’t resist the Nutcracker Suite Puppet Theater. I’ll be turning these 12 ballerina cutouts into ornaments for Kimmy’s future Christmas trees. I’ll be sure to listen to Tchaikovsky the whole time to get me in the spirit! Merry Merry!
